He graduated from Saratov Polytechnic Institute, his major being mechanical engineering.
He defended a doctoral thesis on "Management of Industrial and Economic Complexes within Conditions of Transition to Market Economy". He has been awarded a Doctor of Economics degree. He has a number of research papers, two of which monographs.
For a period of nearly 40 years of work experience with the Saratov Aircraft Factory, he worked his way up from an electrical fitter to a Chairperson of the Board of Directors and a Managing Director of "Saratov Aircraft Factory" CJSCo.
His scientific specialization is in the field of innovation management, having developed a course of his own; Management System "Russian Dozen". He elaborated his own concepts for transportation networks, hovercraft transport vehicles, ekranoplans, vertical flight and landing, with out of airfield deployment.
He is a professor with the Department of Economics and Foreign Economic Activity Companies with Saratov State Academy of Economics, Full Member of the Transport Academy of Russia. Pilot aerobatic.
